Apple ran a display replacement program for some iPhone 11 units made between November 2019 and May 2020 that stopped responding to touch. Check Apple's support site to see if yours qualifies.
Repairing the iPhone 11
The iPhone 11 is the only model on this list that shipped with an LCD screen, a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina panel with a notch at the top. That makes its screen one of the simpler ones to replace. Many iPhone 11s are still on their original battery, so battery and charging faults are as common as cracked glass.
Common iPhone 11 problems
- A cracked screen, sometimes with a dead strip of touch after a drop.
- Battery health under 80%, with the phone shutting down in the cold or at 20% charge.
- A Lightning port packed with pocket lint, so the cable feels loose or only charges at an angle.
- Cracked back glass, which is glued to the aluminum frame on this model.
- Face ID that stops working after a hard drop on the front or after liquid gets in.
Front and back damage together
The iPhone 11 has glass on both sides. The back panel is bonded to the frame, so we remove the broken glass with a laser and fit a new panel instead of swapping the whole housing.

What iOS shows after a repair
The iPhone 11 was the first model where iOS checks whether the screen is an Apple part. After a repair you can see what was replaced in Settings, under General, About.
- A non-Apple screen shows a notice in Settings. Touch, Face ID and the camera keep working.
- A non-Apple battery shows a notice and hides the battery health percentage.

Is my iPhone 11 still water resistant after a repair?
It was rated IP68 to 2 meters when new, but seals age and any opened phone loses some protection. We fit a new adhesive seal, but treat the phone as splash resistant only and keep it away from pools and showers.
