What the upgrade does

  • Replaces the spinning hard drive with solid-state flash storage
  • No more clicking, skipping or drive failures from bumps
  • Faster menus and syncing on many models
  • Lower power draw, which can stretch battery life

Models we upgrade

iPod Classic 6th and 7th generation, iPod Video (5th/5.5th gen) and iPod Photo/4th generation. Not sure which you have? The capacity and model number are on the back.

Pair it with a new battery

If your iPod's battery is original, it's worth replacing at the same time. The case is already open, so it costs less than doing it separately.

Frequently asked questions

Will I lose my music?

The old drive is replaced, so the iPod comes back empty and ready to sync. If you need music recovered from the old drive, add music recovery when you book.

Do I need special software?

No. The upgraded iPod works with Finder on a Mac or iTunes and Apple Devices on Windows, just like before.

Can you also replace the screen or case?

Yes. Screens, click wheels, headphone jacks and new cases can all be done in the same visit.
