It depends on your iPad and what's broken. On many standard iPads the glass and display are separate, so cracked glass alone is the cheaper fix; our iPad glass repairs start at $84.99. Most recent iPad Air, mini and Pro models have the glass fused to the display, so the whole display assembly is replaced; our iPad display repairs start at $129.99.
Glass, display, or both?
An iPad screen has two main layers: the glass with the touch layer on top, and the display underneath that shows the picture. Whether they can be replaced separately depends on your model.
- Separate glass: many standard iPads. If the picture is fine and only the glass is cracked, just the glass and touch layer can be replaced.
- Laminated display: most recent iPad Air, mini and Pro models. The glass is bonded to the display, so the whole assembly is replaced.
How to tell what's broken
- Cracks but a clear, normal picture: usually just the glass.
- Black spots, lines, bleeding colors or no picture: the display is damaged too.
- Touch not responding in places: usually the glass and touch layer.

What changes the price
- Model and size. Larger and Pro models have more expensive displays.
- Glass only or full display. Glass-only repairs cost less.
- Part quality. Ask which part you're getting and whether the warranty covers it.
- Labor. iPad screens are held in with strong adhesive, and removing cracked glass safely takes time.
Why iPad screen repairs take longer than phones
Cracked glass has to be heated and removed piece by piece without damaging the display or cables underneath, and the new screen needs to be bonded and pressed properly. That's why iPad screen repairs often take one to three days rather than an hour.
Is it worth repairing?
Usually, if your iPad still gets iPadOS updates and the rest of it works. A screen repair costs far less than a new iPad. If it's old, slow and the battery is worn too, it may be time to replace it, and you can sell the old one even with a cracked screen.
While it's open: other things worth checking
Because the screen has to come off to reach almost anything inside an iPad, a screen repair is a good moment to look at other common issues:
- Battery. If your iPad dies quickly, replacing the battery at the same time saves a second opening. Our iPad battery repairs start at $129.99.
- Charging port. A loose or unreliable port can often be cleaned or replaced.
- Home button and Touch ID. On models with a Home button, the original is carefully moved to the new glass, because Touch ID is paired to the iPad.
We'll tell you what we find and price anything extra separately, so you only pay for what you choose.

Frequently asked questions
Can you replace just the glass on my iPad?
On many standard iPads, yes. On most recent iPad Air, mini and Pro models the glass is fused to the display, so the whole display is replaced.
How long does an iPad screen repair take?
Usually one to three days, because the old adhesive has to be removed and the new screen bonded properly. Mail-in adds shipping time.
Will I lose my data?
No. A screen repair doesn't touch your storage, though a backup before any repair is always a good idea.
